Refund & Cancellation Policy

1. Overview

DaktarBabu is committed to ensuring the highest level of satisfaction with our healthcare booking and related services. This Refund & Cancellation Policy outlines the terms and conditions governing refunds and cancellations of payments made on our platform.

This policy is effective from March 1, 2025 and complies with the Reserve Bank of India's guidelines for payment processing and refunds.

2. Appointment Booking Fees

When you book an appointment with a healthcare provider through DaktarBabu, a booking fee is charged to confirm your reservation. The following refund terms apply to these booking fees:

3. Hospital Bed Booking Refunds

For hospital bed bookings made through our platform, the following refund terms apply:

  • Cancellation more than 48 hours before check-in: 90% refund of the booking amount
  • Cancellation 24-48 hours before check-in: 50% refund of the booking amount
  • Cancellation less than 24 hours before check-in: No refund
  • If the hospital cancels the booking for any reason: 100% refund of the booking amount

For early check-out from a hospital bed booked for multiple days, refunds will be processed as per the hospital's policy and may vary by healthcare facility.

4. Medicine Order Refunds

For medicine orders placed through our platform:

  • Cancellation before dispatch: 100% refund
  • Cancellation after dispatch but before delivery: Refund minus shipping charges
  • Return of medicines due to quality issues: 100% refund after verification
  • Return of medicines due to wrong delivery: 100% refund including shipping charges

Note: Due to the nature of pharmaceutical products, returns may not be accepted for certain medicines as per regulatory guidelines, especially those requiring refrigeration, controlled substances, or unsealed products.

5. Refund Process

All eligible refunds will be processed automatically to the original payment method used for the transaction. The timeline for receiving your refund depends on the payment method:

  • UPI Payments: 1-3 business days
  • Credit/Debit Cards: 5-7 business days (depending on the issuing bank)
  • Net Banking: 3-5 business days
  • Digital Wallets: 1-2 business days

In case of payment failures or double charges, refunds will be processed on priority within 24 hours of detection or reporting.

6. Cancellation Process

To cancel an appointment or service booking and request a refund:

  1. Log in to your DaktarBabu account
  2. Navigate to "My Appointments" or "My Bookings" section
  3. Select the booking you wish to cancel
  4. Click on the "Cancel" button and confirm your cancellation
  5. Select your reason for cancellation when prompted
  6. Eligible refunds will be automatically processed based on the cancellation timeframe

7. Exceptions

DaktarBabu reserves the right to process refunds outside the terms of this policy in the following cases:

  • Service unavailability due to technical issues on our platform
  • Natural disasters or other force majeure events affecting service delivery
  • Fraudulent transactions or unauthorized payments (subject to investigation)
  • Medical emergencies (with proper documentation)

In case of disputes regarding refunds, DaktarBabu will review each case individually and make decisions based on the evidence provided and applicable regulations.

8. RBI Compliance

DaktarBabu adheres to all guidelines issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) regarding payment processing, refunds, and consumer protection. As per RBI directives:

  • All payment data is securely stored in compliance with PCI-DSS standards
  • Two-factor authentication is implemented for all transactions
  • Transaction records are maintained for the required statutory period
  • Refunds are processed through secure payment gateways authorized by RBI

For any payment-related grievances not resolved through our regular support channels, users can escalate to our designated Grievance Officer as per the Information Technology Act, 2000.
